Timex Waterproof Watches

Waterproof was used up until the late 1960’s to identift watches that had gaskets that stopped moisture from entering the case. As watches were not really foolproof, legislation changed causing previously waterproof models to be relabelled water resistant.

There are several types of vintage Timex watches with the word waterproof on the dial.

• Model W: Timex’s original waterproof model
• Sprite: Small childrens watches designed to be rugged and robust
• Sportster: Ladies watches designed for an active lifestyle
• Marlin: Mens rugged watches
• 21 Jewel: Higher grade movements.
