Skin Diver Watches

Launched in 1967, the Timex Skin Diver range of watches is their earliest attempt at producing a dive watch. It also contains pieces with the highest depth ratings of 600 ft or 180m and full stainles steel cases which were not seen again until the 1980s. These Timex skin diver’s are rare howeverm the rarest of these watches has a 21 jeweled movement. Timex Skin Divers with a date window are rated at 25m or 60ft and use chrome plated cases. All forms of Timex Skin Diver have a plastic friction fit, bi-directional elapsed time dive bezel.

There is some speculation that these skin divers were made for French military use but this is unsubstantiated.
